HVMC Board of Directors Terms of Service

The Hayes Valley Merchants Council (HVMC) is a hard-working board. We also understand and respect that we are all volunteers with our own businesses to run. We believe that many hands make light work. For us to work effectively and efficiently, we recognize that we must all participate equally in our time, responsibilities, and commitment to our organization.

To serve on our board you:

• Must be an owner or decision-maker of a business within the Hayes Valley area bordered by McAllister, Polk, Market, Haight, and Buchanan Streets

• Must be and remain throughout your two-year term a member in good standing with the HVMC

• Must have a proven track record of the skills necessary for the position you are seeking

• Must be available to participate in monthly Board Meetings (currently held on the first Wednesday of each month at 9:00 AM)

• Must chair or serve on at least one committee throughout your term
